Fresh off winning his Olympic gold medal, Carmelo Anthony returned to New York to host the 2012 Camp Melo at St. John's University on Friday.

The camp was organized by ProCamps Worldwide, a company Anthony said he's worked with for about seven or eight years. But this was the first time the five-time NBA All-Star ran a camp in his hometown of New York.

Carmelo Anthony will be holding a basketball camp for boys and girls ages 7-18 Aug. 24 and 25 from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at St. John’s University.

It’s called "Camp Melo" and Anthony, who scored a U.S. Olympic record 37 points in just 14 minutes in Team USA’s 156-73 win over Nigeria on Thursday, will be on hand to direct activities, provide instruction and give daily talks to the participants....
