The Giants are almost “all in.”

In their final practice before their most important game of the year, just about every player was on the field preparing for the Ravens. The lone exception was defensive captain Justin Tuck, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. He was on the sideline working on what looked to be his left shoulder and riding the stationary bicycle.

Tom Coughlin had expressed...

The Giants’ secondary looks to be coming together. The offensive line is going in the opposite direction.

While Kenny Phillips and Prince Amukamara were both back practicing with the Giants for a second day and looking like they’ll be ready to play against the Ravens on Sunday, two of the team’s starting offensive linemen – Chris Snee and David Baas – missed a second straight practice.

Both...

Bradshaw will be a medical decision; Prince and Phillips practicing

Ahmad Bradshaw celebrates his touchdown with Andre Brown

Ahmad Bradshaw said he needs to convince Tom Coughlin to let him play against the Ravens. Turns out he’s targeting the wrong opinion.

“We’d all love to have him play, but it will be a medical decision, it’s not going to be mine,” Coughlin said. “Although he wants to play as badly as he can, if the doctors feel he can play without hurting himself, then I think that very well could be the case....

It didn’t work out all that well last time, but Eli Manning still thinks he’ll be able to take a few notes and nuggets from his brother Peyton as he prepares for the Ravens … the team Peyton and the Broncos just beat.

It’s only the fourth time in their careers that the Mannings are facing the same team in back-to-week weeks, but it’s the second time this season. Eli picked Peyton’s brain in...

Andre Brown rooting for Super Bowl return

All of the Giants want to make it to the Super Bowl, but one REALLY wants the team to go to New Orleans.

That’s running back Andre Brown, who broke his left fibula against the Packers on Nov. 25. The Giants put him on injured reserve with a designation to return after eight weeks, so the only way he can play again this season is if the Giants go to the Super Bowl.

“I told them that if...

The Giants are focused on having to win their final two games to guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs. And while it's true that two victories will secure that invitation no matter what else takes place, the Giants are not playing in a vacuum. Other teams will win or lose, leaving two ways in which the Giants can clinch a berth on Sunday, along with one scenario in which they can be eliminated...

Tom Coughlin and the audacity of hope

Tom Coughlin reacts after the Giants score in

Last year, after the Giants lost to the Redskins in Week 15 and their playoff chances were as dim as they could be, Tom Coughlin surprised his team by accentuating the positives of their situation. Many players credited his tone the day after that Redskins loss as the spark to the Super Bowl run, and they didn’t lose again that season.

Today, Coughlin again was able to focus on the big picture...

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz pulls

While pretty much everyone in the country is still dealing with the news from Newtown, Conn. this weekend, at least one Giants has made a personal connection to the tragedy.

Victor Cruz spoke on the phone Saturday night with the family of Jack Pinto, a 6-year-old victim of the shootings who was a huge fan of the Giants and Victor Cruz. The Giants’ receiver will wear Pinto’s name on his gloves...

The Giants’ concerns in the secondary deepened a bit as the Falcons announced that Roddy White will play today. White is a part of the Falcons’ dynamic receiving duo with Julio Jones and although he did not practice at all this week with a knee injury and was deemed a gametime decision by Falcons coach Mike Smith, he will suit up.

That gives the Falcons their full allotment of receivers against...

Hakeem Nicks practices, looks sharp

Hakeem Nicks watches a video replay and signals

Tom Coughlin said the Giants would ease Hakeem Nicks into this week of practice. Today he looked fully immersed.

The wide receiver who has been fighting through a knee injury just about the entire season was practicing today, a day after sitting out. He stretched with the team, participated in drills, and looked sharp running routes and catching passes. He seems to have a very good chance...
