Justin Trattou is back on the football field with the Giants and trying to keep his dream alive after spending most of last year on injured reserve with a foot and ankle injury.
“It feels good to be back out here,” the 6-5, 255-pound defensive end said. “I’m 100 percent … After missing a whole year, I could definitely use all the work. (I’m) definitely getting better and starting to feel how...

The last time Ahmad Bradshaw played a game in Indianapolis he fell backwards into the endzone, inadvertently and perhaps unwisely scoring the winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLVI.
He may have more chances to go into that endzone facing forwards, and on purpose, this season.
The former Giants running back has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Colts today. Bradshaw was released...

Hakeem Nicks missed the last three weeks of OTAs and Victor Cruz is still unsigned and not at this week’s minicamp. How much time does Eli Manning spend fretting over that situation?
“Only when I talk to you,” he said to reporters today. “That’s the only time it’s on my mind.
“I haven’t made it a big deal and I’m coming here to work and practice and just trying to make sure I’m having...

Hakeem Nicks represented the return of only 50 percent of the Giants’ starting wide receiver duo. The other half, Victor Cruz, is still at large. Cruz, a restricted free agent, has not signed his tender offer from the team and is negotiating a long-term deal with the Giants. Because he is not technically under contract, the Giants cannot fine him for missing these mandatory workouts.
Nicks...

As Giants defensive line coach Robert Nunn said, it’s hard to tell what’s real on the practice field until everyone puts their pads on, but the early signs from third-round defensive end Damontre Moore from Texas A&M have been encouraging. The timetable for him and some of the club’s other young defensive linemen has been accelerated because of Jason Pierre-Paul’s recent back surgery.
Speaking...

The key word to described OTAs, as far as Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks apparently is concerned is “voluntary.” Everyone else on the roster except free agent wide receiver Victor Cruz, who is mired in contract negotiations, has “volunteered” to work out, but Nicks remained absent for the third straight week.
The media is allowed to attend one OTA per week, so, coach Tom Coughlin engaged...

When is a mandatory minicamp not quite mandatory? When a player on a team isn't quite on a team, of course.
Such is the status of Victor Cruz. While his name appears on the Giants’ roster, he is technically not under contract since he has yet to sign his restricted free agency tender and is still in negotiations for a as yet also unsigned long-term deal. According to league officers, that...

Jason Pierre-Paul underwent successful back surgery Tuesday morning to repair a herniated disc in his lower back, the Giants announced.
The procedure, which took place in Los Angeles, was performed by orthopedic spine surgeon Dr. Robert Watkins at Marina Del Rey Hospital in Marina Del Rey, Calif.
According to the team, JPP's anticipated rehabilitation is approximately 12 weeks.
“My...

It doesn't bother Justin Tuck that Hakeem Nicks is not at the team's OTAs. But he said that it is "kind of worrying" that Nicks has apparently not communicated with the Giants about his absence.
“That’s kind of worrying that you don’t communicate,” Tuck said. “Hakeem, he’s young. He may not understand the importance of that part of it. But I’m not worried about him being ready for...

Shaun Rogers is usually one of the biggest anythings. Last year, as I’ve said before, I thought he was one of the most underrated losses of the season when his campaign ended before it began due to a calf injury in the preseason. The Giants could have used his size, strength and experience in the middle against the run. Don’t think so? Just look at where they spent their money this offseason bringing...
