Drivers see gas prices rise over past two weeks
NEWS12 WESTCHESTER: The average price for a gallon of gas has risen 18 cents in the past 14 days. (Aug. 13, 2012)
The average U.S. cost of a gallon of gasoline has increased 18 cents over the past two weeks, according to the Lundberg Survey.
Nationally, a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.69, about eight cents higher than this time last year, the survey said.
The current average in New York is $3.91 a gallon.
According to fuel analysts, an increase in crude oil prices plus problems with refineries and pipelines on the West Coast and in the Midwest are mostly to blame.
However, analysts say prices aren't expected to climb as high as they did back in April, when gas peaked at $3.97 a gallon.
