8 Newburgh men arrested in undercover sting
Eight drug suspects -- Erik Hall, 41; Jamel Black, 35; Andrew Sylvester, 20; Tevin Johnson, 20; Kyle Weir, 21; Luis Ayala, 17; Charles Franklin, 50; and Timothy Ward, 33, all of Newburgh -- were arrested and charged with felony drug sales Thursday. Det. Lt. Dan Cameron of the Newburgh Police Department said the dealers were not gang-affiliated and worked separately but were selling drugs "citywide," unlike Newburgh's territorial gangs. Detectives plan to make more arrests soon, Cameron said.
