East Ramapo schools spent $26M on busing, audit finds

A draft audit released Tuesday raises questions about the cash-strapped East Ramapo School District's $26 million annual spending on busing students.

According to the audit, which looks at busing costs from the 2011-2012 school year, the district should:

• Revamp its busing program to serve actual riders rather than the total number of students enrolled in public and private schools;
