Why visit the Dia:Beacon? The soaring white spaces and 34,000 square feet of skylights in this converted Nabisco box factory make it a liberating first stop in the quaint, arty town of Beacon. Dia:Beacon offers 30 galleries of some very large contemporary art, from the colorful scrap-metal sculptures of John Chamberlain to the massive steel monuments of Richard Serra.
