Collin McLoughlin was among the contestants who competed during the first episode of battle rounds on “The Voice.” Despite losing his battle, he was still chosen to move on in the competition, after he was "stolen" by another celebrity coach.

Tonight the battle rounds continue on the hit NBC reality series, and we'll find out which crop of aspiring singers will join the Bedford singer in the knockout round. In this crucial stage, each mentor trims down their teams from 10 to 5 singers in anticipation of the final stage of competition, the live performance rounds.

Last night, McLoughlin faced off against Brian Keith, with both taking on Sublime’s hit song “Santeria.” During rehearsals, celeb mentor and Yonkers native Mary J. Blige did not seem completely taken with his performance of the dark-natured tune, saying that "he needs to create that pain and that crackle in his voice." McLoughlin also seemed uncertain about the song, and noted it was more suited to Keith than him.

Celebrity coach Adam Levine must have felt the same way, because he declared Keith the winner. But McLoughlin didn’t have to pack his bags and go home. This season, each celebrity mentor is allowed two “steals,” which means they can pick up rejected contestants during battle rounds.

And Blake Shelton made the very first steal in “Voice” history by picking up McLoughlin for his team.

Both Cee Lo Green and Shelton wanted to steal the singer, and based on his Twitter reactions, McLoughlin is ecstatic to be on Team Blake.

“Looks like I get a chance to redeem myself for "screwing the pooch before @blakeshelton,” he tweeted just after the news was announced during the show’s broadcast, linking to a photo of his dog draped in a “Team Blake” T-shirt. And this morning he wrote, "My first day waking up as a member of #TeamBlake.”

Will the Bedford singer have better luck on the country star’s team? The last “Voice” contestant with Hudson Valley roots was Jermaine Paul, and he ended up winning the show last season as a member of Team Blake.
