Carly Rose Sonenclar on 'X Factor': Live shows begin tonight

After the last few days of enduring Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, no doubt you’re ready to focus on something fun. With “The X Factor” live shows kicking off tonight at 8 p.m. on FOX, we think that rooting for Mamaroneck teen Carly Rose Sonenclar is an ideal way to distract yourself from Mother Nature.

The live shows were supposed to begin on Thursday, but with the quick conclusion of the World Series, "X Factor's" air date was moved up one day. 

A quick recap of where the show stands after the Judges’ House rounds concluded earlier this month: Each celebrity judge -- Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid -- have picked four contestants for their respective teams, with Sonenclar on Spears' "Teen" team.

Tonight's episode – a special two-hour-and-seven-minute show – will mark the first time the 16 remaining contestants will perform live, and new hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will also make their "X Factor" debut. On Thursday's episode, the Top 12 finalists will be revealed, after each judge selects one of their own acts to go home. Starting next week, the decision on who gets eliminated will be based on public vote.  

So there’s a lot at stake for all the contestants tonight, including Sonenclar. The 13-year-old has a lot of fans, including celebrity well-wishers, but will that be enough to get into her the Top 12? Even as she’s about to make her live “X Factor” debut, Sonenclar is keeping the East Coast in her thoughts, and recently tweeted this message of support.
