Carly Rose Sonenclar to appear at Kids Party for a Cure benefit

Carly Rose Sonenclar, the runner-up on season two of the TV talent show “The X Factor,” will be the special guest at the 10th annual Kids Party for a Cure, an event to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute. The benefit will take place on Sunday, March 10, at a Dave & Buster’s in the Long Island village of Westbury.

The 13-year-old Mamaroneck resident is well-known for her dedication to charitable causes, and she is an ambassador to the Starlight Children’s Foundation of NY/NY/CT.

“Anything I can do to help kids I will. That’s why I chose to be involved with the Kids Party for A Cure,” Carly Rose said in a news release. “Being able to support the DRI in its effort to find a cure for diabetes is special to me because it gives me an opportunity to help kids my age.”

The “X Factor” star will be available for a meet-and-greet session and photographs, but she is not scheduled to sing at the event. The benefit marks Carly Rose’s first public event since a parade took place in her honor in Mamaroneck last month.
