Little bookworms are invited to enjoy readings, food, music and more at Historic Hudson Valley’s Children’s Book Day, an annual festival celebrating children’s literature. The event will take place on Saturday at Sunnyside, the historic Tarrytown homestead of author Washington Irving.
In addition to book signings -- more than 60 children’s authors and illustrators will be on hand -- the day’s entertainment will include appearances by storybook characters such as Clifford, Bunnicula, Biscuit and Franklin the Turtle. Participants are invited to take a tour of the historic house and everyone will enjoy musical performances by Carole Demas of Irvington and Paula Janis, the creators and stars of the 1970s children’s TV show, “The Magic Garden.”
The event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
