Clive Davis, Jane Fonda earn Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week
Clive Davis, Jane Fonda and Nick Kroll share their tweets of the week. (Feb. 22, 2013)
A music icon, an Oscar-winning actress and a rising comedian were among the regional celebrities keeping things interesting on Twitter this week.
Because the following embedded tweets, links and videos involve HTML coding, this feature is best viewed with a Web browser. If you missed any of Newsday Westchester's previous Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week installments, click here.
Kicking off this week's countdown is hitmaker and Pound Ridge homeowner Clive Davis, who was in the news this week for publicly revealing his bisexuality while promoting his new memoir, “The Soundtrack of My Life." Two days after the book was released, his Twitter account celebrated the birthday of fellow music mogul David Geffen by posting a vintage picture of the two of them.

That's a meeting of the music minds right there. Not pictured, and likely just out of frame, some hack singers who are trying to hand them some demo tapes.
At No. 2 is Jane Fonda, who attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie. A two-time Academy Award winner for her acting performances in "Klute" and "Coming Home," Fonda was seen posing with “Beasts of the Southern Wild's” star Quvenzhané Wallis, who's nominated for best actress at this year's ceremony.

Could some of Fonda's Oscar mojo have been passed along to Wallis in this moment? That will be revealed this weekend, but in the meantime, I just want to point out how there's an adorable dog stuffed animal that, in this picture, kind of looks like a belt or obscure fashion accessory Björk might wear. Let's hope this trend continues on the red carpet come Sunday night.
In this week's top spot is Rye native Nick Kroll, who teams up with "SNL" writer John Mulaney for their recurring "Oh, Hello" bit on Comedy Central's "Kroll Show." Their pickup basketball game goes awry when other players (played by fellow comics Hannibal Buress and Mount Vernon-raised J.B. Smoove) show up and pit the two old friends against each other.

If the subtlety of Smoove's character shouting "Oh, snap!" flew over your head (hint: check out his Twitter handle), you can still enjoy Burress' kicker: "Ron Paul just broke Phil Spector's shoulder, yo."
