Daughtry and 3 Doors Down, bands that have each sold more than 6 million albums, are all set to rock the house tonight at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie.

The 3,050-seat venue will serve as a one-night "Home" for Daughtry, whose other hits include "What I Want" and "It's Not Over."

The band is fronted by former "American Idol" contestant Chris Daughtry. Behind Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, he's the third-most successful "American Idol" contestant of all time in terms of sales.

But unlike Underwood and Clarkson, Daughtry didn't even win his season of "Idol." He finished fourth in the fifth season; winner Taylor HIcks also defeated "Smash" star Katharine McPhee in the season's final showdown. As Academy Award winner and former "Idol" contestant Jennifer Hudson can attest, sometimes the greatest successes don't depend on the outcome of a reality TV competition.

Then there's 3 Doors Down, whose members have carved out a little bit of success of their own. Since the band's breakout hit "Kryptonite" topped multiple Billboard rock charts in 2002, the band has followed it up with a steady stream of hits, including "When I'm Gone," "Here Without You," "Loser" and "Duck and Run."

The joint show begins at 7 tonight at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center (14 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, 845-454-5800, www.midhudsonciviccenter.org). TIckets are $50.
