Local celebrities including Martha Stewart, Audra McDonald and Snooki are preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Sandy just like the rest of us, tweeting their plans and their concerns along the way.
Bedford lifestyle guru Stewart sounds just as you’d expect her to during an advancing natural disaster: calm and efficient. As she tidies up her estate, she remembers going through similar housekeeping last year as Hurricane Irene approached.

While most of us spent Sunday buying groceries and supplies, actress and Croton-on-Hudson resident Audra McDonald did the same. And we approve of her shopping list.

We bet that TV host and New City native Allison Hagendorf would also give a thumbs up to McDonald’s list, since she agrees with Newark mayor Cory Booker about all food consumed during precarious times.

Unfortunately for Marlboro native Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, the approach of Hurricane Sandy means a lot of jokes at her expense, such as this one.

And finally, former Saugerties resident Jimmy Fallon doesn’t seem as fazed by Hurricane Sandy as the rest of us. He seems determined that despite the weather, the show must go on.

How do you plan on passing the time as Hurricane Sandy approaches? Let us know in the comments how you plan on staying safe and warm during the storm.
