Jason Bateman, Joan Rivers earn Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week
Celebrity tweets in the Hudson Valley.
It’s time once again for the Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week, which we kicked off last week. We've picked five of the funniest, boldest and best related tweets for your consideration.
At No. 5, northern Westchester resident Paul Shaffer reflects on a little music history, and sneaks in a jab at Boomtown Rats frontman and frequent rock punchline Bob Geldof:

Lest we forget, years before Shaffer became the bandleader for North Salem resident David Letterman, he showed off his comedy chops as a featured player on “Saturday Night Live.” Plus, he played inept record promoter Artie Fufkin in “This is Spinal Tap,” so he’s got comedy cred for life.
In our fourth slot, Rye native Jason Bateman proved, once and for all, that the much-anticipated “Arrested Development” return is a real thing that’s actually happening:

There’s an “AD” joke involving the color blue to describe how fans reacted to this photo, but I can’t in good conscience post it here. I like my job too much.
At No. 3, “Arrested Development” producer-narrator Ron Howard reflected on a man and a place that made him a household name.

I’m sure the late Andy Griffith was proud of how the kid who played Opie Taylor grew up, as the Academy Award-winning Howard — an Armonk resident — is regarded as one of Hollywood’s nicest guys.
Someone who didn’t play nice this week was former Larchmont resident Joan Rivers, who was joined by a camera crew as she handcuffed herself to a Costco shopping cart to protest the chain’s refusal to sell her book, and lived to tweet about it to claim our prize for this week's runner-up:

Now that would make for some interesting video.
Taking this week’s top spot is Kevin Bacon, who not only stopped by Bronxville this week to begin filming his new Fox TV series, “The Following,” but also gave his Twitter followers his on-set perspective:
So, if you’re keeping score at home, his Twitter followers are now following “The Following.” Got it? Good.
