Jay-Z is back in the studio, but this time his beats will be the backdrop for Baz Luhrmann's next movie.

The Grammy-winning rapper, who owns a home in Scarsdale, has been working with hip-hop group The Bullitts to compose the score for "The Great Gatsby," which stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role of the movie based on the famed F. Scott Fitzgerald novel.

Led by singer-songwriter Jeymes Samuel, The Bullitts raved this week on Twitter about working with Jay-Z on the movie music.

News of the rap mogul's latest gig came at the end of a year that had its share of cinematic moments for him and his wife, Beyoncé. In the fall, Armonk resident Ron Howard filmed him for a documentary about the rapper's Made in America concert festival. And a few months after Beyoncé turned down a part in Clint Eastwood's remake of "A Star is Born," she announced she'd be directing an HBO documentary about herself.

"The Great Gatsby" is slated for a May 10 release.
