10. Laugh out loud at Levity Live: Opened in January, the newest comedy stop on the block is one of the very few dedicated to booking comedians exclusively. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Rockland County's top comedy venue — Levity Live in West Nyack — is offering free admission to its shows on Nov. 2 and 3.
There's a small caveat, however, as the two-item minimum remains in effect, but this is still a good deal for a place where tickets to see top-notch comedians can cost up to $30 per person on a given night.
Angelo Lozada, Nore Davis, Gina Brillon and Joe Matarese are among the stand-up comedians scheduled to appear Friday and Saturday night at the venue.
"Saturday Night Live" and "Weeds" star Kevin Nealon had been scheduled to perform at Levity Live those nights, but his publicist said Wednesday that Nealon's appearances were canceled due to "flooding and power problems at the club." Regardless, the venue will be open tonight and tomorrow night for a show the venue is calling the "Hurricane Sandy Comedy Showcase."
On the fourth floor of the Palisades Center, Levity Live is at 4210 Palisades Center Dr., West Nyack. Audience members for these performances must be 18 or older. For more information, call 845-353-5400 or visit www.levitylive.com.
