'Mammoth Follies' puppet show on the stage in Suffern

Kids will be thrilled at the sight of giant, colorful creatures of the past including Willie Mammoth, Smiley the Saber-Toothed Tiger and the 11-foot tall T. Rex in “Mammoth Follies,” a unique puppet show appearing Friday night at Rockland Community College (145 College Rd., Suffern).
The prehistoric puppets will explore the facts and myths of evolution through humor, song and dance. Puppeteers draw on the Japanese Bunraku-style of puppetry -- they dress in black to recede like shadows -- giving the spotlight to the lively, larger-than-life puppets, created by the not-for-profit Hudson Vagabond Puppets.
The puppet show is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. To buy tickets or learn more, call 845-359-1006 or visit www.hvpuppets.org/mammoth-follies.
