Nick Kroll's 'Kroll Show' renewed for second season

Nick Kroll’s sketch comedy series, “Kroll Show,” has been renewed for a second season, Comedy Central announced Wednesday. The show, which premiered Jan. 16, received an additional order of 10 episodes.

“Kroll Show” has aired only two episodes so far, but it already has been well-received. The premiere episode drew 1.4 million total viewers, making it the highest-rated show in its time slot.

“Nick plays his characters with such comedic conviction, it’s become obvious he has a serious personality disorder,” said Kent Alterman, Comedy Central’s president of original programming, in a news release. “We hope another season will help him discover who he really is.”

“All of me are very excited,” joked Kroll, in reference to the multiple characters he plays on the show.

The former Rye resident, who also stars on the FX comedy “The League,” spoke with Newsday Westchester in October about “Kroll Show.”

"I'm very excited about it," said Kroll, 34. "[I'm hoping] folks who like 'The League' will come to my show and enjoy it, because it's still my sense of humor, but it will feel very different than what you see on 'The League.' "

"Kroll Show" airs at 10:30 p.m. Wednesdays on Comedy Central.
