This weekend marked the opening of the Palisades Fair, an all-new fair located at the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack. Visitors from Westchester County, Rockland County and beyond came to experience the carnival attractions and amusement rides.
Robert Massucci, 50, traveled from Tappan with his three children to check out the fair. “A friend of mine told me about this fair and so far, I think it’s very nice,” he said. “The prices are excellent, the employees are so friendly and my kids are having so much fun on the rides. I will definitely be coming back a couple of more times this year.”
Most of the fair’s attendees were families, and there were plenty of things to do for the young and young at heart. The petting zoo was a particular hit with kids, giving them the chance to ride ponies, feed llamas and pet sheep, and rides like the Wacky Worm Coaster and Rio Grande Train offered pint-sized thrills.
Adventure seekers will be happy to know that Palisades Fair has plenty of rides for them, too, including the Cliffhanger, which swings its riders facedown, and the Giant Wheel, which gives vertigo-inducing views of the fair.
