Howard Stern, Rosie O'Donnell and Max Greenfield were among the Hudson Valley celebrities who headed to Twitter to weigh in on Sunday night's Academy Awards ceremony.

Here are 15 of the night's most notable tweets, in chronological order.

As his best-known character Pee-wee Herman, Peekskill native Paul Reubens kicked off the Oscar coverage by documenting his supposed run-in with a grouchy security guard backstage.

Shock jock Stern, who kicked off his professional DJ career in Briarcliff Manor, showed compassion for Malik Bendjelloul, the "Searching for Sugar Man" director whose acceptance speech for best documentary feature was drowned out by the pit orchestra's "Jaws" theme.

Suffern native and "Real Housewives of New York City" star Carole Radziwill grumbled about her Oscar snub.

Bedford resident Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty was all about a former "American Idol" contestant's performance during the movie-musical tribute.

From her Nyack home, Rosie O'Donnell was also a fan, but her daughter had a slight preference for a movie whose music was performed a cappella.

Dobbs Ferry native and "New Girl" star Max Greenfield joshed about Adele's performance of "Skyfall," which would win an Oscar later that night.

By the time the In Memoriam segment rolled around, National Lampoon contributor and Pomona native Evan Kessler was among the viewers starting to feel the show's length.

And when Barbra Streisand emerged to sing "The Way We Were" during for that segment, Northern Westchester resident Nick Di Paolo tweeted what most movie fans under the age of 60 were thinking.

Ingrid Michaelson, who spent a summer working in Nyack, was lamenting the passage of time.

On a more serious note, Rob Thomas reflected on the passing of Adam "MCA" Yauch, who briefly attended Bard College in Poughkeepsie before he co-founded the Beastie Boys.

Suffern native and former "666 Park Avenue" star Dave Annable was ready to move on.

When Ang Lee won his Oscar for best director, for his work on "Life of Pi," one of his "Brokeback Mountain" colleagues — Bedford native and "House of Cards" star Kate Mara — couldn't contain her excitement.

Hyde Park resident and WRRV disc jockey Deuce was a bit flummoxed by Meryl Streep's announcement that Daniel Day-Lewis had won best actor for "Lincoln."

Fashion designer Vera Wang, who has called Pound Ridge home, focused more on the winner himself.

After "Argo" claimed the Oscar for best picture, Bedford resident Chazz Palminteri showed off what he was wearing to his Twitter followers.
