Celebrities with Hudson Valley connections headed to Twitter this week to talk about Oscar-nominated movies and, in at least one case, the language of love.

At No. 3 is Cortlandt Manor native Lauren Caltagirone, who writes for the Jimmy Fallon-produced "Guys With Kids" on NBC. Her lonely alter-ego, @MrsRupertPupkin, told her 70,000 Twitter followers Thursday that, in lieu of the "three magic words," she'd settle for one gutteral one.

At No. 2 is Bedford resident Chazz Palminteri, one of many local celebrities abuzz about Thursday morning's announcement of Oscar nominations. True, Nyack's Rosie O'Donnell took a break from celebrating her new daughter to praise the nods for "Beasts of the Southern Wild," whose four nominations included one for Hastings High School grad Benh Zeitlin. But on the other side of the Hudson River, Palminteri was among the many who were disappointed the Academy snubbed Ben Affleck for his direction of "Argo."

Although I'm happy for Zeitlin — and for Ang Lee, a former Larchmont resident who also was nominated for directing "Life of Pi" — I have to agree with Palminteri. Affleck got hosed.
This week's Tweets of the Week winner is Peekskill native Paul Reubens, aka Pee-wee Herman, who reminds us that, before "Lincoln" earned 12 Oscar nominations, audiences were surprised to hear Daniel Day-Lewis' unique take on Abraham Lincoln's voice. In turn, Fallon and Herman had a little fun with that concept.

I can only imagine Day-Lewis rang up Herman for the following exchange:
Daniel Day-Lewis: "You are a terrible Abraham Lincoln."
Pee-wee Herman: "I know you are, but what am I? Ha ha!"
And scene.
