Snooki on MTV, Dick Clark Tribute: New Year's Eve on TV

This year will mark the first time in 40 years that the late Dick Clark, a Mount Vernon native, will not be a part of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” a show he'd hosted annually since 1972 on ABC.

But the TV legend’s presence will be felt throughout the night when Fergie and Jenny McCarthy co-host “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebrates Dick Clark,” a two-hour tribute (starting at 8 p.m. ET) to Clark and the yearly New Year’s Eve broadcast he emceed. Ryan Seacrest, who is now the official host of the New Year’s Rockin' Eve countdown, will also appear on the show to honor Clark.

At 10 p.m., Seacrest will kick off “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2013.” Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jespen, Neon Trees and breakout star Psy (“Gangnam Style”) will perform live in Times Square, while Justin Bieber, Jason Aldean, Brandy and Pitbull will be among the stars at the West Coast party, hosted by Fergie.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, a former Marlboro resident, said goodbye to “Jersey Shore” this year when the MTV show ended its run after six seasons. She’s also bidding farewell to 2012 in style by co-hosting “MTV’s Club NYE 2013” with Jenni “JWoww” Farley and comedian Jeff Dye. The festivities, which include performances by Ke$ha, Ne-Yo, Sean Kingston, Rita Ora and Conor Maynard, kick off at 11 p.m. live from Times Square.

And New City native Allison Hagendorf has been tapped to serve as the official host of Times Square 2013, the New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Crossroads of the World. Hagendorf will welcome the close to one million people gathered in Times Square and also introduce the Times Square Ball. She'll interview celebs and revelers about their New Year’s Even experience throughout the night, and also lead the hourly countdown towards midnight and the Times Square ball drop.
