Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy: Back together?

Taylor Swift and her most recent boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, may not have split after all. If you believe a website called Showbiz Spy, the couple that seemingly called it quits in October is keeping their relationship alive and under wraps.

There are reasons to believe either scenario. Newsday Westchester examines three key pieces of evidence from both sides.

The case for Caylor:

1. A fake break-up means they might be able to evade the press. The white-hot glare of the spotlight — or are those just paparazzi flash bulbs? — makes it tough for any relationship to survive.

2. Swift hasn't bashed him in the media. In the past, Swift has been known to speak ill of an ex, especially if that ex's name is John Mayer. (Then again, maybe she's realized that she comes across better when she pleads the fifth.)

3. At least one Kennedy relative seems to adore her. Just days before reports of Caylor's demise, family matriarch Ethel Kennedy spoke of Swift in glowing terms.

The case against Caylor:

1. At least one Kennedy relative seems to resent her. Unlike Ethel Kennedy, Victoria Gifford Kennedy was nonplussed after Swift and Conor Kennedy reportedly crashed her daughter's wedding.

2. She has a new song, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," and she really seems to enjoy singing it. Granted, this song was recorded before the breakup, but for many musicians, pain is art. And a broken-up Swift means big business for her and her record label.

3. They haven't been spotted together lately, like, anywhere. Generally relationships work best when both people are present.
