Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy reunite for romantic weekend

For anyone wondering whether Conor Kennedy and Taylor Swift could survive a long-distance relationship, the answer is yes. At least, so far.

Earlier in September, Kennedy returned to boarding school in Deerfield, Mass., to begin his junior year of high school. While Kennedy was hitting the books, Swift was busy with promotional duties for her new album “Red,” including stops at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, the Canadian Country Music Awards and the "Stand Up to Cancer" telethon.

“Caylor” fans can take heart that despite the 22-year-old country star’s jam-packed schedule, she made time for her 18-year-old beau this past weekend. The Boston Herald reports that the two were spotted at Taylor's Tavern & Restaurant in Greenfield, a town not very far from Kennedy’s school – the Deerfield Academy boarding school. Other stops during Swift’s visit included shopping at an antiques store and a visit to a cafe.

The visit was short and sweet: After they spent the day together on Saturday, People magazine reports that Swift left on Sunday afternoon.

“They were very happy and very polite. She was very sweet,” a source told People.

For those keeping score, the duo were spotted during the summer in Nashville (Conor met Taylor'’ parents); Cape Cod, Mass.; Mount Kisco; and Boston, where they infamously crashed (or didn’t, depending on whose story you believe) a Kennedy family wedding.

Swift reportedly bought a 13-room home in Cape Cod, conveniently close to the fabled Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Mass. And Patrick Kennedy, when asked about Taylor at the recent Democratic National Convention, said she’d be a welcome member of the clan if she wanted in.

Another Kennedy gave Swift her approval: Rory Kennedy, who is credited with introducing the couple when she attended Swift’s concert earlier in 2012. While attending the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last weekend, Rory Kennedy told Us Weekly that she loved Swift and her music.

“I think she’s fantastic and I couldn't be more thrilled,” Rory Kennedy said. “She’s a good friend of our family, and we all adore her and love her. It’s great to have her around.”

The MTV European Music Awards also are showing Swift some love: She received five nominations, including “Best Female” and “Best Look.” The awards show will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sunday, Nov. 11.

If Swift attends, could she bring Conor Kennedy with her? After all, the EMAs fall on a three-day weekend -- Nov. 12 is Veterans Day. Could this be our chance to finally see the lovebirds together at a red carpet event? Stay tuned.
