Let’s face it: After the week that Hurricane Sandy wrought, we could all use a laugh. With the roads a bit clearer and power returning to many parts of the region, it’s time to shake off the bad weather with some much-needed guffaws and giggles.

It’s important to note that many local shows have been postponed due to the storm and its aftermath, so call ahead before solidifying your plans. That said, here are this weekend’s top entertainment picks for the Hudson Valley, which were still a go as of publication time.

Sunday: Jay Mohr at Tarrytown Music Hall

Nearly 20 years removed from his days as a “Saturday Night Live” featured player, Jay Mohr still has a strong following; just ask any of his nearly 200,000 followers on Twitter. After his two-season stint on “SNL,” Mohr added high-profile acting to his repertoire, with star turns opposite Tom Cruise in “Jerry Maguire” and Jennifer Aniston in “Picture Perfect.” But he never gave up stand-up, which he started practicing when he was just 16 years old, en route to being named one of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.”

When: 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4

Info: Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main St., Tarrytown; 914-631-3390; www.tarrytownmusichall.org; $29-$49
