July Fourth fireworks, celebrations in Hudson Valley

Celebrate July Fourth with a bang — and, in some cases, a concert or a picnic — with Independence Day events in the Hudson Valley. There are dozens of local events scheduled between now and July 7, listed below by region (Westchester, Rockland or Hudson Valley), date and time.
WESTCHESTER
Friday, July 6
9:15 p.m., Rye: Choreographed fireworks displays are held every Wednesday and Friday in July and August at Playland (Playland Park, Rye). Spectator admission is free for Westchester residents and $10 for nonresidents; parking is $5. Info: 914-813-7000; ryeplayland.org
Saturday, July 7
7-9:30 p.m., Tuckahoe: Grucci Fireworks conclude an Independence Day celebration of food and entertainment at the Parkway Oval (Consulate Drive, Tuckahoe). The Backsliders, Jackie DiMaggio and Angie Love will perform before the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. The free event is sponsored by the Generoso Pope Foundation. Rain date is July 8. HUDSON VALLEY
Saturday, July 7
8:30 a.m.-9:15 p.m., Woodbury: The all-day Woodbury Firecracker Festival at Monroe-Woodbury Middle School includes a 5K run (8:30 a.m.), a car and bike show (noon-4 p.m.), a street fair and a touch a truck event (both 11 a.m.-4 p.m.). A fireworks display will be set off at dusk and spectators are invited to watch from the south end of the Monroe-Woodbury field (155 Dunderberg Rd., Woodbury). 5 p.m., New Paltz: Music, food and festivities will be followed by fireworks at dusk at the Ulster County Fairgrounds (Libertyville Road, New Paltz). Info: 845-255-0100; www.townofnewpaltz.org
7-10 p.m., Greenwood Lake: A disc jockey will spin tracks at Waterfront Park (southern end of Windermere Ave., Greenwood Lake) before the fireworks show at dusk. Free. Rain date is July 8. Info: 845-477-9215 or 845-477-9212; www.villageofgreenwoodlake.org
8 p.m., West Point: The West Point Band’s Music Under the Stars series continues with an Independence Day concert and fireworks at the Trophy Point Amphitheater (Ruger Road, West Point). 8 p.m., Bethel: The New York Philharmonic returns for their annual performance at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (200 Hurd Rd., Bethel). Parking opens at 5 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. and a family-friendly event begins at 7 p.m. before the 8 p.m. show. A fireworks display will take place after the performance. $26.50 (lawn)-$111 per person; $60 family lawn pass; $15 students and kids 17 and under; free for kids under 12 on the lawn.
