Depending on where you are in this modern American restaurant by day and sleek nightclub by night, Shadows can feel like several venues in one. Next to traditional indoor dining rooms, a seat at the curvy, flashy bar connects you to a massive screen of the game du jour and a lengthy cocktail list. A seat in the Winter Room — appointed in all-white everything — might make you feel like you’re in a music video, especially when a DJ or live band is rocking the crowd on a given weekend. The adjacent red-and-purple-lit room offers plush booths in burgundy. But perhaps the best seats are actually outdoors, where the bar hovers above the Hudson River and patrons can watch tiny lights of traffic scoot across the Mid-Hudson Bridge. -Chris Serico
