Originally an operating dairy farm with a main building dating back to 1880, Muscoot Farm was acquired by Westchester and became a county park in the 1960s. Visitors today can watch the animals, which include cows, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, chickens, turkey and ducks. There is also an herb garden, vegetable garden and seven miles of hiking trails.
During the spring, summer and fall, hayrides are available to visitors on Sunday afternoons for $2. There are seasonal events and activities, including pumpkin picking and a Halloween walk. A farmers market runs on Sundays from mid-May through October. Workshops and programs for youngsters, including camps, are offered throughout the year. Pets are not allowed.
