It could be a Tuscan fortress or a Tuscan mansion, depending on your perspective. All ocher and clay, Aroma Osteria is atop the rolling hills of a former farm. The interior is expansive and authentically Italian down to the ceramic tiles and wrought-iron room dividers. The large dining room is partitioned into four handsome spaces, with plenty of sunlight during the day. An exceedingly polite staff is well-versed in the food, as well as the huge wine list (20,000 bottles, with ample selections in the $30 range.) The menu hopscotches from the far north of Italy down to Sicily, concentrating on traditional recipes. The dining terrace is delightful in warm weather. --Bryan Miller
