With its wide vista of the Hudson River and a leafy outdoor patio, this 200 seat seafood restaurant is a big draw in spring and summer. The large dining room is low key, with muted colors and well-spaced tables. A long snazzy bar has white leather settees out of Las Vegas.

The menu is described as a mélange of Mediterranean, French, Italian, and Asian cooking — a challenging act under the best of circumstances. There are few revelations here, as most offerings are conventional Italian: fried calamari, littleneck clams in steamed in white wine, garlic and parsley; penne with salmon, spinach and shallots; chicken Parmesan, and miso glazed Chilean sea bass. The wine selection is paltry but prices are right.  -Bryan Miller
