Part of a restaurant family that also includes Ruby’s Oyster Bar & Bistro in Rye and The Tap House in Tuckahoe, Lexington Square Cafe appears to have been modeled after an ocean liner. There's a 17-foot-high central dining room, long rows of formally set tables, a glitzy bar, and a sweeping staircase that ascends to three tiers of smaller eating areas. At the entrance is a pleasant flower-framed dining patio.
The improbably long menu calls at many culinary ports -- maybe too many. You will find shrimp dumplings followed by truffled mac & cheese, then steak quesadillas and penne with shrimp and crabmeat. Crispy flatbread pizzas are popular starters. The predominantly American wine is well chosen and fairly priced. -Bryan Miller
