Marcello's Ristorante of Suffern
21 Lafayette Ave. Suffern, NY 845-357-9108
It’s a bit of a hike for most valley residents, yet area celebrity Marcello Russodivito has been packing them in for more than 25 years with his good cheer and soulful renditions of Italian classics. The main dining room, dominated by a giant mural of the Hudson River, is slightly more formal than the other, with art deco touches and a mood that is suitable for children. Chef Marcello offers familiar tunes like linguine puttanesca, pappardelle with smoked prosciutto and zucchini, pork chops stuffed with Fontina cheese and prosciutto, and pasta puttanesca. Portions are large, prices relatively low. The mostly Italian wine list is reasonably priced. -Bryan Miller
