Sweet Grass Grill

Situated across from the Tarrytown Music Hall, this local favorite projects a farmstead theme with a wood-paneled dining room, soft earth colors, decorative slat shutters and paintings by local artists. The small, friendly bar overflows before and after concerts.

The menu leans toward vegetarian and vegan fare with varying degrees of success (sautéed spaghetti squash, smoked whole eggplant with hummus and fava beans) and more conventional items like pan-roasted sea scallops and pulled pork with orange mustard. Regional farmers are celebrated on “Meatless Mondays,” when an all-green menu is offered — don’t fret, it’s not mandatory.

The young staff is cheerfully accommodating with children, and there can be lots of them. There is a good selection micro-brews as well as wines by the glass.  -Bryan Miller
