Candice Glover won "American Idol" Season 12 over Kree Harrison as Psy, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Adam Lambert and Aretha Franklin performed.
Harry Connick Jr. is back on "American Idol" as a guest mentor, with the four finalists singing a song from 2013 and then a classic song tonight.
Angie Miller up first, singing Rihanna's "Diamonds" while seated at the piano. Nice crackle in her voice; brings her usual sense of drama and touch. Not a great song choice for me -- it's inherently a limited song and there's...Read more »
TPTB (the powers that be) at “American Idol” reinvented their rule book last night when it was announced that no one was being eliminated and that this week's votes will be combined with next week's to decide who will be leaving the show.
So, the final four contestants – Amber Holcomb, Angie Miller, Kree Harrison and Candice Glover – will all get another shot at performing for America's votes...Read more »
"American Idol" is about to cut to its top three — or maybe not, with the show promising a "surprise twist" tonight.
Lee Dewyze, who won season nine and has been one of the least notable champs, singing "Silver Lining." He's still got that great tone; not sure he'd have even made the top five this year though.
They then review Angie Miller's performance...Read more »
"American Idol" is cutting to three finalists tonight -- or are they? Ryan Seacrest promises a "surprise twist" so we'll see. They start things off with the group singing Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire."
It's a strong, enjoyable performance; choreography isn't anything special and they don't interact much, but oh those voices...

Oh, the drama! Oh, the suspense! OMG!
Ryan Seacrest has promised a “surprising twist” on tonight’s “American Idol” results show. Could it be that the judges’ save could still come into play, even though its expiration date was officially two weeks ago?
And really, how mean would it be to send any of these four home after they did a micro-sized version of “Idol Gives Back” by visiting...Read more »
At this stage in the "American Idol" competition, the four remaining finalists have developed signature styles both vocally and from a fashion standpoint.
While Amber Holcomb is unpredictable when it comes to what she’ll wear, we’ve come to expect some interesting, out-of-the-box looks from her. Last night was no exception. First, it was a long, lean white jump suit (or so it appeared)...Read more »
Amber Holcomb and Angie Miller outshone Kree Harrison and Candice Glover as the fantastic "American Idol" final four sang a song of their own choice and then a one-hit wonder.
With all the vocal talent on stage it had the chance to be one of the show's best nights ever. It was not, due to some poor song choices; but it was still pretty good.
Below is how I ranked the performances;...Read more »
Kree Harrison doing "A Whiter Shade of Pale" next on "American Idol." She's bringing her all, and it's enjoyable. But like everyone else tonight I don't think she picked a great one-hit wonder to sing. There's only so much you can do with a song that isn't that memorable.
Randy Jackson says "you redeemed yourself," calls it "brilliant." Mariah Carey...Read more »
Amber Holcomb singing "MacArthur Park" next as "American Idol" does one-hit wonders, a theme chosen by audience vote. The song itself isn't that great; Holcomb performs it well, gives it a sense of fun and carries us along with her strong vocals. But only so much she can do with it.
Gets all the judges but Nicki Minaj to stand, though. "The sun has come out, you're...Read more »
Angie Miller and Candice Glover's duet gets ovation, Amber Holcomb and Kree Harrison 'like superheroes' on 'American Idol'
Amber Holcomb and Kree Harrison team up to sing Adele's "Rumour Has It" next on "American Idol." Holcomb's distinctive voice really cuts through; she simply sounds like a star. Harrison is strong as well; they've got Keith Urban rocking out in his seat.
Urban praises Holcomb's "commanding stance," calls it "riveting." Nicki Minaj says "you guys...Read more »
