Former Republican state Sen. Nicholas Spano reported Monday to a minimum-security federal prison in Pennsylvania to begin serving his tax fraud sentence, Newsday has learned.
Spano, 59, reported to Schuylkill Federal Correctional Institution's minimum-security camp in Minersville at 1:30 p.m., said his lawyer Kerry Lawrence.
