Protest over sale to town of Monroe movie theater
About 300 people rallied in front of the Monroe 6 Cinemas on Saturday afternoon, voicing their displeasure over the local-government equivalent of an impulse buy -- a decision by town council members to plunk down $880,000 at auction to purchase a vacant theater.
