8 Newburgh men sold drugs in undercover sting, cops say

Erik Hall, 41; Jamel Black, 35; Andrew Sylvester, 20; Tevin Johnson, 20; Kyle Weir, 21; Luis Ayala, 17; Charles Franklin, 50; and Timothy Ward, 33, all of Newburgh, were arrested and charged with felony drug sales Thursday. Det. Lt. Dan Cameron of the Newburgh Police Department said the dealers were not gang-affiliated and worked separately, but were selling drugs "city wide," unlike Newburgh's territorial gangs. Detectives plan to make more arrests soon, Cameron said.

Eight men were arrested Thursday and charged with selling crack, cocaine and heroin to undercover cops in Newburgh, police said.

Newburgh detectives, who have executed a series of drug raids in recent weeks, said they have more names on their list and expect to make additional arrests in the next few days.
