City of Newburgh pair burglarized vacant building, cops say

Two City of Newburgh men who police say broke into a vacant city-owned property ended up spending much of the day in a more active city property -- namely, jail.

Vernard Blackmon, 48, of Lander Street, and Michael Simon, 49, of North Miller Street, were charged with felony third-degree burglary in the Monday incident, Newburgh city police Det. Lt. Dan Cameron said.
