Dutchess County Airport terminal, tower cleared over propane smell

The terminal building and the control tower at Dutchess County Airport were evacuated for about a half hour Monday morning after workers smelled propane gas, officials said.

Tony Marquez, assistant chief of the Wappingers Falls Fire Department, said firefighters responded to the report about 7:30 a.m. and found that the pilot lights had gone out on a propane heating system.
