Poughkeepsie main break fixed; City Hall to reopen Thursday

Poughkeepsie's City Hall has water back and will be open Thursday after closing because of a water main break Tuesday, the city's mayor said.

"Things have been fixed and the state of emergency will be lifted tonight at 9 p.m.," Mayor John Tkazyik said Wednesday.

Tkazyik said the problem water main is 8 feet beneath the front steps at City Hall, which is in the same Civic Center Plaza...
