6-year-old girl survives by hanging onto dead womanThree boaters in a rowboat on Putnam County's Lake Gleneida saved a 6-year-old girl whom they found holding on to the floating body of a deceased woman Monday afternoon, town of Carmel police said.
Sgt. John Dearman said two men and a woman in their early 20s were fishing in the lake about 5:15 p.m. when they were surprised to see the girl clinging to an unidentified object in the distance....
