A ceremonial reopening of downtown Wappingers Falls focused attention on shops and restaurants hit hard by a building collapse three weeks ago that closed a portion of Main Street.

"I want everyone to know that the Village of Wappingers Falls is open for business," Charles North, president and CEO of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release.
