Power was interrupted to more than 500 homes in southern Dutchess and Orange counties as temperatures remained in the mid-90s Saturday afternoon.

In the Town of Newburgh, 383 customers lost power, according to Central Hudson. The outages were concentrated in Balmville, a hamlet north of the City of Newburgh.
