Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, who grew up in West Babylon and led his high school team to a 9-1 season in his senior year, fatally shot his girlfriend early Saturday, then drove to Arrowhead Stadium and committed suicide in front of three team officials, according to a Kansas City police spokesman. The decision to play comes in light of Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, a 25-year-old from West Babylon, fatally shooting his girlfriend before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and shooting himself in front of coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli, according to police.
