A 12-year-old Mount Vernon boy is recovering in the hospital after he fell several stories down a building's elevator shaft Sunday.
The mother of Chaz Gant said he did not suffer any broken bones, just a large laceration on his hip, which required stiches. He is being treated at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. He was visiting friends at 111 N. Third Ave. when the accident occurred.
