Village of Piermont residents found boats tossed through homes and local businesses wiped out as streets opened up after Hurricane Sandy.

Police opened up the village's waterfront for the first time Wednesday, although a section of Piermont Avenue along the Hudson River remained blocked, between Ash Street and Ritie Street, where the most damage was done.
