It's going to be a cold and wet Saturday.
The Lower Hudson Valley woke up to snow flurries before temperatures rise to just above the freezing mark by late morning, the National Weather Service's New York forecast office said. Then it'll be rain for most of the day, lasting into the night.
But for the Mid-Hudson Valley, including Dutchess and Ulster counties, accumulation of up to 2 inches of snow is a possibility, forecasts predict.

"It'll change over everywhere to just plain rain by midday and stay rain right on into (Saturday) night," News12 meteorologist Joe Rao said.
If the mercury is nudged just a few degrees higher on thermometers, places like Fishkill, Poughkeepsie and Kingston could get "a slush coating," Rao said.
Wind gusts could touch 15 mph, said National Weather Service Meteorologist Dan Hoffman, who added that flooding shouldn't be a major problem on Saturday.
The rain "is falling over a long enough period of time where it's not expected to be an issue," he said.
The good news? The colder-than-usual weather will end when the storm passes, with temperatures peaking in the mid-40s on Sunday and Monday.
Conditions will gradually clear up Sunday as temperatures rise, Hoffman said, setting up clear skies overnight and a mostly sunny day on Monday.
