French weekly Charlie Hebdo publishes cartoons
French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo published a caricature of the Prophet Mohammed in its Sept. 19, 2012 issue. The cartoon comes against a background of unrest across the Islamic world over the film, "Innocence of Muslims," and turned France into a potential target of Muslim rage. The provocative weekly was firebombed last year after it released a special edition portraying Prophet Muhammad as a "guest editor" and took aim at radical Islam.
