Letter: Campaign spending rule needs changing

Now that the election is over, it is time to address a vitally important issue buried in the weeds by just about every politician. It is the Supreme Court decision that interprets the Constitution to say the use of big money in elections is an acceptable and uncontrollable form of free speech.
Until Congress enacts campaign finance laws to challenge that decision, and voters understand how critical it is to ensure new appointments to the court, nothing enduring will be possible.
Ordinary Americans who are not part of the elite ruling class will suffer, and democracy as our forefathers intended it to work will be a lost dream.
